I have a client ITT with the following request...

 

Page 4 “The solution design should ensure that any patient identifiable data is encrypted to NHS standards using AES256 bit encryption” 

How does MOOD encrypt or confidentially protect data?

  Hi Joe,

   

  No data is stored within MooD itself, instead the data is stored within a SQL database.

  You have a numerous encryption options within SQL and a lot of the information around this can be found on the link below:

  https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/relational-databases/security/encryption/sql-server-encryption

   

  Another option would be to use an encryption tool such as Bitlocker to encrypt the drive itself, rather than the database.
