As an architect I want the tool to automatically route lines for me so that I can spend more time considering the content of the diagram, and less time concerning myself with sorting out where lines route.

Acceptance criteria: I want lines to route with minimal crossing, and without drawing two lines on top of each other

  Ideally for my personal usage we could just drop a bunch of elements on a page and click a button that says 'using relationship X connect related things and draw the prettiest diagram' and not have to do anything more.. but people will then ask for swimlanes and even more on that and it sounds complex already so not sure if possible!

  Story has been accepted into the Product Backlog

  We have groomed the story, and it is now awaiting implementation

  Smart layout feature was introduced in Build 57 to enable easier drawing of lines on complex diagrams.

  This may not be 100% as asked for but was felt to be a more suitable meeting of many needs

  The ability to show line hops also now reduces the impact of many lines crossing.
