Improvement to the 'Align Centres' functionality
CompletedAs a Solution Builder
I want the 'align > centres' functionality in MBA to align objects to the centre of the first selected object instead of aligning to the averaged midway point of the selected objects. And when aligning with a locked object, to align to the centre of the locked object (currently when aligning two objects' centres where one of the objects is locked the unlocked objects align to the midpoint of all of the objects, however the locked object remains unmoved meaning that the centres are not in fact aligned, which is un-intuitive).
So That I can align objects on models predictably and in a useful fashion, which would be especially helpful for building out models with lots of aligned objects, such as process flow diagrams. It would also allow for alignment to objects which are already in the 'correct' position - currently all objects are moved when using this feature, moving already aligned objects out of position.
Benefits I will be able to build models, especially process flow diagrams, faster and more accurately. It will also make the alignment feature more intuitive and consistent with alignment features in other tools.
Acceptance Criteria:
The 'Align -> Centres' functionality should:
- Align the centres of all objects selected to the centre of the first object selected
- If an one of the objects selected has it's position 'locked' then all objects should be aligned to the centre of this object
- If multiple objects are locked in the selection then the objects should align to the first locked object to be selected
Priority: Medium - small user story which I believe provides good value not only with respect to 'COMPASS like' solutions but also in improving tool intuitiveness
