Implementation of Guest login functionality that links to a users credentials
Not planned(Request submitted on behalf of customer)
As a... Process Architect
I want... to provide the user community with the ability to log into the MAE hosted repository through a guest login capability that is classified and recorded on an individual basis.
So that... An individual guest can be recorded against their total logins and also against hit statistics for the pages they access. This will continue to be represented via the graphical statistic generation capabilities.
The benefits for this are... Users will not need to maintain password management for the repository. Usage of the repository may increase through increased convenience of access, there will be a reduced requirement for the Architect to support password resets. There will possibly be reputational advantages for the application.
Acceptance criteria... Guest account clearly displayed on login page, statistical displays and generated Excel documents continue to function, and remain accurate in relation to discerning individual guest users for login numbers and against page hits.
Priority... Medium/High

Some additional Q's I discussed with the customer:
Would you like this implemented for web or business architect?
BA
Could the desired outcome be achieved via SSO?
Quite possibly yes. The main drive behind the request is that many users do not want to go through the trouble of having to use a password to access the rep but we still want to identify individual usage figures.
Do you need control over who can/can't login?
At the moment probably not
With this feature implemented, would you require the log in statistic for a user to provide a number for the number of times a user has logged into both their individual and guest account, or one number to represent both?
It would be enough to have their total number of logins compiled through both methods, although some idea of the number of guest logins versus account related logins would be of value to see the popularity of each access method
Could any updates for this be directed to Matt Croton so that I can update the customer accordingly, thank you.

Official comment
Matt,
thank you for the request. As per our discussion, if the customer is open to SSO, then this should be the first port of call; as this will ensure best practice when it comes to security, as well as low maintenance effort.
Thank you and kind regards
