Within Business Architect define your meta-model encapsulating your business or domain landscape in the context of capabilities, people, assets, systems, services, processes and information:
-
Establish the core concepts; for example operations, assets, and 3rd parties:
-
Break those core concepts down into the parts that make them up; for example under Physical IT Assets you will likely have servers and end user devices:
-
Identify the relationships between the different objects in your meta-model; for example Applications rely on Networks, and Networks are enabled by Network Devices:
This allows you to visualise and interrogate dependencies, surface risks, and identify blockers, bottlenecks and waste.
