Unique Identifiers (Primary Key Options)

MooD needs a means of uniquely identifying each row it imports, and hence each element it creates or updates. This is the primary key.  MooD will suggest what to use. Ideally this will be a single column, but it can be made up of multiple columns that, when combined, form a compound key.

Compound keys aren’t guaranteed to be unique, and the wizard itself won’t check your compound key against your spreadsheet. However, you can do this in the Mapping tab. Use the Validate command on the ribbon. This validates the map, and then the data, including a check for duplicate compound keys.

In the tables, the fields selected as keys are marked with a key icon. The primary keys must be connected to a target field. If not, the Synchronizer will fail with an error.

Primary keys cannot use field modifiers unless they are mapped to more than one target. One of the primary key mappings must be unmodified.
