Execution Methods
Aggregation Matrices can be executed in a number of different ways; these are called execution methods. Each method uses different SQL constructs and is suited to specific Matrix design characteristics. These methods apply to SQL Server only.
The default Auto settings allows MooD to examine your Matrix and choose what it thinks will give the best performance. Auto may not always select the best method. The method can be manually changed to a specific method based on the Matrix characteristics and the results of performance tests. To change the execution settings, click on the methods dropdown on the home tab in the execution group.
How to Change the Execution Method
- Open the Aggregation Matrix you want to change the execution method for
- Ensure you are on the Home tab in the ribbon
- Click on the "Method" drop down in the Execution section on the ribbon
- Select the Method you want to use from the Execution Optimization dialogue box
